In this session, we created a complex water slide shape, comparing the advantages of turning it into a hybrid symbol instead of an Auto Hybrid, explored using the hybrid symbol for cabinetry and added a chimney to a curved roof.
In this session we looked at auto hybrid objects which lead us onto looking at creating downpipes (downspouts) for a project.
In this session we want to look at a few disconnected 3D modelling challenges. The first one was how to create a complex table leg, something like a Louis XIV table then we had a question about creating a specific kitchen cabinet that had to be designed to fit walls that were not 90° apart, and finally we looked at creating an outdoor fireplace.
This session looked at placing a fence on top of a stone wall. There are several ways to create a fence. You can create a fence using a texture, you can model of 3D or you might find there is a tool that will allow you to create a fence. With the Australia and New Zealand version of Vectorworks you get a Handrail tool that is more powerful than the standard Vectorworks handrail object. In this session we looked at the difference between using a texture and using these tools. Continue reading
A client asked me if it was possible to create a barn roof that had more than one slope. It’s possible, and there is more than one way to achieve it.
