Link text to Record – Linking text to record as a slightly advanced use of Vectorworks, but it is extremely useful and I often use it to create symbols for my drawings.

In simple terms linking text to record allows you to link a field from a database to text on the symbol. An example of this might be a door number symbol that allows you to place a particular graphic style on the plan as a symbol, but allow you to change the door number from one symbol to the other.
