Interactive Workshops January 2017 – Resource Manager

The Resource Manager is an extremely important part of your Vectorworks interface. It allows you to look for resources (hatches, line styles, wall styles, plants,  et cetera). So it’s important that we understand how to use it because it is will make you more efficient and improve your productivity.

The Resource Manager palette that you see on your screen is just one part of the total concept. Vectorworks uses the Resource Manager for many objects and tools to allow you to find the resources that you need when you use that tool.

With the Boxing Day Sales, I decided to get a Nexus 7. A nice looking Android 7″ tablet. I found out to my horror that it does not play the movies on this web site, because the movies are in the wrong format. I know that the movies play on an iPhone and an iPad.

When you install a new computer program, the program uses something called the file extension (the three letters after the dot on the filename). Often, when users install a new version of Vectorworks, they do not want the new version of Vectorworks to open the old files, so they choose to keep the Association with the old version of Vectorworks.
