In Vectorworks 2013 there was a change to the line styles. Now they are called Line Types, and they are more more graphic than they have every been.

This allows you to create line types that include the works SS for Sanitary Sewer, or SW for Stormwater. You can even make a line type that looks like footprints.

Hatches in the Resource Browser

Over the years I have been collecting hatches that I like to use in my Vectorworks drawings.

You can choose to put the hatches in your template file, or you can choose to put these hatches in the User Folder or Workgroup Folder.

There are over 80 hatches in these files.

Quick Preferences

In later versions of Vectorworks you can access quick preferences from the toolbar. In Vectorworks 2013 they have increased the number of preferences that you can access from this area. But that is not the only way that you can create quick preferences. Prior to this, you would create quick preferences by writing a small script which would sit in a floating palette.

Vectorworks comes with several libraries full of furniture and electrical appliances. But sometimes you want to have something which is more specific to the country you are from. I have created some symbols that match the F&P objects like dishwashers, stoves, ovens, and range hoods.
