SST_1308 – Camera Match

CameraMatch is a huge timesaver. Firstly, CameraMatch saves the time that it would take to model the existing surroundings. Secondly, CameraMatch saves the time it would take to match your current view to a photograph.

My experience is that the cost of CameraMatch is more than paid for with your first project. When you do additional projects CameraMatch becomes even more profitable.

Many people think that they should only use CameraMatch for large projects. I believe this is a mistake. CameraMatch is ideal for large projects, but it is also ideal for small projects. It really does not take very long to set up CameraMatch project, but showing your client you will design and its context is so much better than just showing your client the model.

CameraMatch should be used for exterior projects, architectural projects, urban design projects, landscape projects, and interior design projects.

  1. Hi Jonathan,
    I am starting to use the camera match plug-in and so far I more or less get the process. I have run into a problem that I can’t resolve. My model in the viewport is too high off the ground in the site photo and I don’t know how to lower it.
    I also don’t know how I got here; I placed my reference on the same design layer as the location in the photo…
    Can you advise?
